Experience Emporio Houses
The Castle in Emporio, “Castelli” was very well fortified, having for security reasons, only one entrance to the settlement, which still exists. The houses were built side by side and are connected by bridges. North of the village there is a square building named Goulas, which was built to provide shelter from the pirates to the villagers. Pallia Panagia one of the oldest churches on the island located in the Castelli is famous for its ornately carved wooden dome.
